One more week to go until the start of the Vuurschepen Race and the opening of the North Sea Regatta Week on 27 May 2017! At this moment we see 64 yachts on the entry list for the offshore race from Scheveningen to Harwich of which 39 fully crewed and 15 TwoHanded. At this moment nearly 200 boats are registered for the inshore races on 2, 3 and 4 June, including almost 40 participants for the J22 Worlds.
With 67 on the North Course and a whopping 121 on the South Course we are really happy with the entry level! We’re proud to announce that Cornelis Vrolijk is the new sponsor for the Vuurschepen Race for the next few years. Welcome on board!
We already said we would break a few traditions and restore a few old ones. We are going to reintroduce some really cool challenge cups for the races, some fairly new, but others date back to 1938! Also the rules for winning the Hans Horrevoets Trophy have changed a bit this year: 20% of the crew has to be born after 1/6/1992. At this moment we have five teams meetings the criteria: NED27, NED7472, NED7935, NED8831, NED8844.
It’s not too late yet to order Farewell and Welcome Home dinner tickets. If you’re interested in joining the Vuurschepen Farewell dinner (€ 15 p.p.) in Scheveningen please email to firstname.lastname@example.org to make sure the organisation has plenty of power food ready on the 27th of May. The Farewell dinner on the 27th of May is ONLY available on pre-ordered basis.
Complete your crew list
Participants for the Vuurschepen Race need to fill out the crew lists and include passport numbers or ID cards as this will save big time during registration. You are NOT allowed to race if the crew list is not complete.
